its the type of food and consistency they are eating that causes the change in stool colour

According to website 1.
If your baby's stools are green and frothy she may be taking in too much lactose (the natural sugar found in milk), which happens if she feeds often, but doesn't get the rich milk at the end of the feed to fill her up. It may also be caused by overfeeding or underfeeding, or is a sign that your baby has a stomach bug.'

According to Website 2.
Greenish diarrhoea may mean that your daughter is suffering from a tummy bug and food has travelled more quickly than usual through her gut. Known as ‘rapid transit diarrhoea’, it might be green due to increased presence of one form of bile pigment

Children that are teething produce more saliva (drool). The saliva is swallowed and increases the amount of fluid in thier digestive tract. This causes loose stools and color changes due to the changes in digestive patterns.

Have they eaten or drank any funky colored items recently? Like fruit snacks? Or maybe a strangely colored juice (blue or green)? Usually odd colored bowel movements and/or urine are caused by the dyes used in a lot of foods/snacks/drinks marketed towards children, especially if eaten/drank in excess.
