Ever heard the statement "people fear that which they don't understand". Perhaps that is the case here. Being in the medical field, I understand leukemia better than I did when I was a teen. Some of these guys may actually think leukemia is contagious. I know, you're probably laughing at that statement, but it could be true. Never underestimate a person's ignorance. A guy who is truly interested in you may want to know more about your illness, so don't be afraid to educate them, & try not to get offended by people's questions.
Also, it could be these guys are afraid of getting into a long-term relationship that they fear may not be "long-term". Some men don't deal with loss well at all. They could be afraid things will work out, you'll get married, & then they'll be widowed young. I don't really know what you would do to alleviate their fears on this one, except to tell them no one knows when they will die, so live for the moment. I wish you the best in finding someone. You sound like a really nice girl, & you deserve someone who will treat you right.

its not so dear... i don't think that it is the illness of yours which is creating a problem in your dates... it might be some other issue... it can be because of your attitude.... there can be a hell lot of reasons... you are just linking it to your illness cos you don't like to accept or realise other flaws in you.....
leukemia is not a tranferrable disease....... i dont see a reason why you cannot be dated....
and no one gets to know about that until they see your medical history.... first impression is always by looks and apperence... also by how the person behaves....
so don't give a reasoning that it is because of your ill ness the guys don't date you... there has to be another cause... try to find it out...
it can also be a problem of the country you are living in... where i live, people don't discriminate on such grounds.....

they are suckers, they uneducated morons, they don't know that your disease will not spread to them and they don't have to worry about it, but mostly I think they are afraid that you might have some episodes where you will fell bad and you won't feel like to go out and have fun and they will get stuck with you, they will have to stay with you and not go out, so that is the thing about it I guess, they are afraid of taking the responsibility and stay around you when you need them, will f--- them all, you take care of your self sweetie, good luck..

you hit on the head. they are cowardly and dating a sick girl dosen't make them look cool in front of their friends. but don't give up, someone will come along and like you for who you are,"warts and all".
