The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit are the three persons who make up the one, true God, the Blessed Trinity. No one has ever seen God the Father. No one has ever seen the Holy Spirit. But we know what Jesus looks like. It's only natural that we feel closer and more comfortable with him. He's one of us. We personally identify with Jesus, the God-Man. That's why God sent his son as a man. It was always part of his plan for our salvation. The best part is that a perfect man - Jesus - is now enthroned at the right hand of God, in heaven. That gives us back the exaulted human dignity we lost when our first parents failed and sinned. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging all of the great things Jesus did for us, through appropriate worship, so long as we remember that all three persons of the Godhead were involved in our creation and redemption, and all three persons deserve our highest form of worship, thanks and praise. The worship of God is the primary responsibilities that each individual has during their existence. Jesus made if very clear that we must worship God with all our hearts. The link below will give you some insight as to who God really is and who Jesus is. The website is the same as one of the other answers give just a different article. The second article is about the trinity. The origin, is it in the Bible and should a person worship God in that manner. In respecting the beliefs of others even though they differ from your own is an act of courtesy and respect. Many do not believe as Jehovah's Witnesses do as has been shown in many of the other responses to your question. We believe what is taught in the Bible is inspired of God as it says at 2Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight" Please read the articles below and draw your own conclusions. If you are uncertain of the conclusions you arrive at I urge you to contact any of Jehovah's Witnesses and ask for a free Bible study. There is a link on the front page of the website that will allow you to request a free Bible study. They will not misled you, all of their answers will come directly from the Bible. My best to you in your search in looking for God.

When you look at the history of Christianity, there has always been a pendulum swing between an emphasis on God and Jesus. Along with the emphasis relating to Jesus' divinity vs. his humanity. Many liberal and progressive Christians today find that moving toward an emphasis on God is a way to enrich inter-faith dialogue and ecumenism.

I agree with Kev the JW above. Those guys have some sensible theology. Jesus never claimed to be god. Furthermore (not JH) he taught about his inner god, the logos (cosmic Christ; son of god). Mainline Christianity is the religion ((about)) Jesus rather than the religion ((of)) Jesus. If people want to follow him they should consider doing as he did: worship the father in heaven (“father-mother” according to the gnostics), the “only true god”, and not Jesus the man who is soooo very dead.

Trinitarian Christians (90% of Christians) don't worship God at all. They worship Jesus as their God.
The bible does not claim Jesus is God. The Catholic church invented that idea in 325 CE (ad) and eventually forced it on people at the point of a sword.
The Church of England did the same.
Trinitarian doctrine is not biblical at all.

It is you Jesus and God are the same person just in different forms. Jesus took on the form of a human body and came to earth, God is his father, and the Holy Ghost is the form that is with us every day everywhere.

Most do because they believe that Jesus and God are the same person. I believe that Jesus is Gods son and I focus on worshipping God who's name is Jehovah. It's in the original manuscripts of the scriptures over 1,000 times. Get an old bible and you will find it in Psalms 83:18. You must also worship Jesus because in his name all knees should bend and because of his great sacrifice of giving his life so we can attain forgivness and life eternal and he is ruling as our king/redeemer.

They are one in the same:
I and my Father are one. John 10:30
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...All things were made by him...He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us John 1:1, 3, 10, 14
Jesus saith...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

Christians believe Jesus is God, however i understand your point.
I am a christian, but i realize that many people are emphasizing Jesus a lot more than anything else. Yes, Jesus is extremely important to christianity, but because they focus so much on Jesus they do not focus on the other important parts of christianity. consequently, many christians are misinformed about their own religion
