Maybe you should post a link to their website. I'd never heard of this until now.

To the chick who simply said "vote Democrat": You are willing to overlook individual candidates to vote for a party? You are brainwashed.

I've browsed (briefly) they unity08 site-interesting concept. That is the way the Commonwealth of Va does the governorship-sort of. Don't know how it is in other states. Right now we have a Democrat gov and a republican Lt Gov. Of course, they ran their own campaigns and maintained their party allegiance-they didn't run as one party or on one ticket. But as a concept, I don't see why the unity08 approach wouldn't work.

It bears reading if nothing else. Thank you-it made me think. Now my head hurts.

If I put $5 straight up on one of the 36 numbers (or 0/00) on a roulette wheel, I have a "chance" of winning ... but not a very good one (one in 38).

On the other hand, if I put my $5 on either "black" or "red" the chance of winning is nearly 50%.

Unity08 has an uphill battle to fight. "Third party" and "independent" campaigns don't win presidential elections (see "Roosevelt, Theodore, Bull Moose").

The last "third party" to displace one of the others and eventually become one of the two "major parties" were the Republicans, and that mainly happened because the Democrats split in 1860 and made it possible for Abraham Lincoln to win.

But, one can hope (I'm not a Unity08 fan, but I am a "third party" supporter).

It's a long time till then and at the rate this whole government is going , we could have the biggest upset in this country's history .As angry as people are with this Congress and this President ( at this time ) for giving this country away to the Corporations and illegal immigrants . You might be surprised at who the people vote in .
