Any time after Never?

So how does denying citizenship to people from our neighboring country have anything to do with National Security?

This whole thing started just to keep Terrorists out that could cross the sea and come in via Mexico. Then everyone blew it up when they got mad at Bush for not securing our borders It's not that people are against them. With 9/11 and all people are on edge. If people come here illegally and expect to get rights like citizens there is a problem. Not every country in the world has open borders. Why should we let everyone in? We don't even have enough funds to help our legal citizens. It is crazy to me that they are even considering letting people have licenses who are not citizens. If they are so proud of where they came from then they need to stop protesting and take their Mexican flags home to Mexico

hmmm maybe because lots of the crime is caused by illegal immigrants who are, in the majority, Mexicans. Having less crime helps national security. Being illegal itself is a crime. Personally, I think that they should start deporting illegal immigrants if they refuse to go through the citizenship process, which will be a long, hard process that probably only the most dedicated would devote themselves to (not all the druggies). There ya go.

Let me cover that terrorist part now. Whenever "mexicans" are mentioned, you think of the border. If the border isn't secure, then that can be a passage for terrorists considering it's been an easy way to get into the country illegally and unnoticed. If terrorists get through, that will definetely hurt national security!

What would we call it if a million Iraqis came to the US illegally.

Probably most would say an invasion.
Why is it different there because of WHERE someone comes from?
Denying citizenship to anyone who does not want to adopt OUR COUNTRY is wrong? This isn't an extension of another country. People come here then complain how bad it is. If it's that bad go back. No one forces anyone to stay here.

And the same could be said for a lot of Americans who complain about how bad they have it.
Won't be long they'll have enough to vote to take over CA and NM and AZ etc as some want. Look up the Azteca movement

Some people in this country are so ignorant and racist. And I know what you mean about them getting picked on. What people don't realized is that because Mexico is border to us they assume that everyone that crosses the border is Mexican when in fact some are from Central America they too speak Spanish so as soon someone comes from the other side and speak Spanish they tag them as Mexican. People need to stop assuming that everyone brown is Mexican. That's why Mexican get pick alot, all the haters should learn about geography and understand that all those Central Americans that also have problems in their country must pass thru Mexico into the USA and as soon as they get caught they say they are Mexicans because they don't want to get send all the way back to their country. Then they have to start all over again. So people just because they speak Spanish don't assume they are Mexican !!!!

I don't think that this started as a National Security issue. I live in a American border city that is overrun with illegals who can make everday life hell. Also I know and love some Mexicans who are here illegally. It comes down to the fact that many illegals are abusing our services and trashing our country. Any illegal immigrant is breaking the law, and in my opinion should be prosecuted. Its not about denying citizenship either, the newly proposed laws actually open up many new ways to gain citizenship, and also make it easier to deport those who have not followed the rules. I don't know if they'll really help, but please lets get the facts straight. =)

They may not be terrorists, but they can sure kick some ***. A few jumped my bf weeks ago, and he ended up in the hospital. Doesn't remember that day or the day after. lol.

But anyway, it's probably because americans are getting mad that companies rather hire them for less than americans for more.

I mean, it is worth it after all. Not saying it's the right thing to do, but it's the affordable thing to do, and when it comes to business, there aren't many morals.

Why hire an american for $10 an hour when you can hire a mexican for $5 an hour and they'll do the same amount of work?

They overburden our subsidized services such as education and health care, which is a big reason we limit poor immigrants to begin with. Why should we pay for them and at the same time watch our health care and education for our children get worse and worse?

Totally aside from that, there are many national security reasons for wanting to have a handle on strangers coming into this country. Or are you saying it is impossible that a Mexican would ever be a terrorist, so that should only apply to others? Now that truly would be prejudiced.

1. No one is picking on Mexicans. I think you are refering to the uproar about illegal immigrants which is not limited to Mexicans.

2. Mexicans have nothing to do with a terror attack but the Mexican governments lack of border secuirty doesn't help. A terrorist can enter their country easier than the US then cross the border with a load of illegals.

3. Controling the number of people that come into our country helps with many issues like over crowding, plunging the economy into chaos, keeping out known criminals, etc.

That's the whole point .. we don't know WHO is getting across that border ...because they're entering illegally! We don't know their nationality, we don't know if they're criminals, we don't know ANYTHING about them... OK? They may be honest hard working people ... or they may be criminal gang members ... or drug pushers ... or child molesters ... how do we know if we don't have any control? And we're not denying citizenship to Mexicans ... there are millions of LEGAL Mexican immigrants here ... why should we all of a sudden grant citizenship to people who so flagrantly violate our laws, no matter what their origin?
