Yes...in a way. Parts of the hair will break, causing the loc to be weak. If you want them to be a little neater, try using a moisturizing gel, or a molding cream like Sebastian's Molding Mud. Also, always try to wrap up your hair at night.

If you *really* wnat your locs to be neat, you may want to transition your tightening process from "twisting" to "interlocking". If you want to know how to interlock, you can email me at ebonynichole@yahoo.com I hope this helps!

you dont have to use a flattening iron. You can simply wash it and style it. The Beauty Supply stores sale lock and twist. You can apply it to your hair and twist it from root to end. Then apply the double barrow or single barrow metal clips and sit under a hair dryer to keep the hair in place permanently for a couple of weeks. You can plait it while its wet. Sit under the dryer after clipping them still at the roots and still twisting from root to end and when it's dry it will be like crimps. Dreads look good with other colors added to them too. Anything diff and touched up really makes the dreads! Good Luck wit yo do!

Make sure they are very clean. Product can burn from the heat. Have you tried using some diluted organic locking gel just after you wash your hair and giving those loose ends a twirl, then wrap your hair and let it dry?
