there is no such thing as black magic. there is no such thing as white magic. magic is just that. magic. it all depends on the person using it. you wouldn't call a base ball bat evil would you? now if someone took that bat and used it for violence then it would still be a bat wouldn't it?
it would be the person swinging the bat that was good or evil. i know this dosen't really answer your question but i hope it at least cleared a few things up.

The orouboros is NOT black magick. It can be used for such ends, but black magick in general is a bad idea. Let me rephrase that. If you do it, be prepared to experience what you put out by a factor of 3 (at least). If you're willing to go through 3 times as much pain as your enemy, by all means go ahead. The orobouros is an ancient symbol of eternity, the snake represents the basic nature of life which is neither good nor evil, it just survives. "Life goes on" world without end.

first of all black magic is...ummm...how do I say nicely,...nonexistant?

Black magic is like saying green pudding. Who's really gonna' eat that, since no one makes it?

Snakes are prevalant in mythological stories. Snakes are known as healers and teachers in societies outside of the catholic faith (yes I said catholic with a little "c")

The medical symbol is a staff with two snakes entertwining amongst themselves.

If the snakes are simular in form to the medical symbol I would say you have a "lucky health charm" on your hands.

There is also a symbol from Eastern traditions of a snake biting it's own tail forming a circle. That is a symbol of life, ever heard the circle of life? That's basically the same thing. circle, never ending, with no beginning or ending. It means longevity and unbreaking and balance

I can imagine two snakes forming the same circle. head of one biting the tail of another who in turn is biting the tail of the first one. This two is a symbol of balance, kind of the artistic snake version of the yin/yang symbol. light and dark, male and female, left and right. whatever descriptor you need that come in a black or white comparison to envision balance and symmetry.

I could be mistaken, but the symbol you are describing doesn't sound like something associated with magic. It sounds like a Greek symbol for infinity.
