the foundations of islam are called the five pillars.
1st u take your shahada which means u believe in your heart and testify that there is no god but allah, and muhammud is prophet. allah is a translation to god.
2nd you do ur 5 prayors a day
3rd you fast the month of ramadan
4th you pay ur zackat which means ur annual charity that you owe to spend on poorer muslims through out the world
5th you take hajj which is the pilgrimage to mecca providing you can afford it once in your lifetime.
another important one is to not commit shirk which means associating partners with allah. this means you put no one on the same level as god or higher then god. example if you say jesus is god that is wrong because jesus was a prophet a man and NOT god.

Thanks for the question, and giving me the opportunity to answer it.
Firstly, Islam is very simple, consise , and beautiful.
here are the fundamentals of our belief:
if you believe
1. that there is no object worthy of worship but Allah (God)
2. you believe in the angles
3. Heaven and hell
4. The Books that came before (the Old testament, Gospels, Quran)
5. you believe in the all the Prophets of God starting from Adam, including Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, and Muhammad peace be upon all of them)
and finally
6. Divine decree.
than welcome to Islam.
however, i must stress that the most Important thing our WHOLE religion is based upon, is Worshiping None but Allah alone. (he does not have any sons, daughters, partners, etc).
Finally, if you do not wish to listen to anything i've said, at least do one thing which you have nothing to lose.
Seek guidance from God himself to guide you on the strait path, and see where it leads you.
I Swear by Allah, that if you Sincerely and whole-heartedly ask Him for Guidance to the truth. He will lead you to it.
