I used Adderall last October, and it really helped me. I had gotten high and all the before, and that wasnt what this drug was doing to me. My parents dont want to take me to the doctor because they think that I will lie while taking the ADD test just to be able to get high legally. I personally wouldnt do that. I have been clean for almost a year. But the thing is, if its for my own well being and health that my parents are depriving me of, should i get it through other ways? i have a friend that said she would give me some. So i know it would be safe, and nothing else added, but I simply dont know. Should I or should i not get Adderall behind my parents back?

I would think as parent they would recognize that having past drug problems that you obviously need some help..... saying you were clean for a year and that your parents believe you would lie about having ADD tell me you had some addiction in the past. Alot of people who are easly addicted are sufferers of depression and anxiety, hence there seeking drug usage. I think that being easily addictted to things, they would see a red flag there and take you to a councelor. I know I come off sounding .. ohhh a bit harsh and I dont mean to say you are an addict, just prone to it,. I speak from expierance. I have a highly addictive personality and have been on anti-depressiants a long time and they have givien me what I needed to function so that there was no need to look elsewhere. If your parents want you to stay clean, they need to understand that you might need a little help chemically. There is NO shame in needing help :) Im glad you are asking for it and the fact you are wary shows you are trying your best to do the right thing . I hope your parents wake up and see that ,and listen to you :) Good Luck

PS .My youngest takes adderal and it has helped him so MUCH in school.

Honestly I think that you should just tell your parents that you think your should get your doctors opinion on the matter, then go talk to your doctor. he/she may not put you on either med, maybe something different. Make sure that you mention to your doctor that the med you were taking before was helping you because if you were only taking it for a month he/she might not know that it had helped already especially if you didn't keep taking it before or after that. I would lay off getting high especially if you are taking any meds, you don't know how they can react to each other. I don't think that it is a good idea to go behind your parents back and you should never take anyone else's medication, they may be on a different dose than you need. I think that they can also still do testing in the schools, if you are still in school.
If you need this medication please go about getting it the right way. I had a really good friend who has ADHD and another more serious mental disorder, I believe he has schizophrenia. He used to take "friend's" medications, though most of the time he didn't even know what it was for, he took birth control pills as far as I know it was only once, but it was because he didn't know what he was taking, anyway even though he was on ritalin and max dose on a very strong medication, an antipsychotic, he took friend's antidepressants and other similar drugs to what he was taking of his own anyway, he had to be taken to the hospital on a number of occasions for drug interactions from all the crap he was tossing back in the club from his so called friends. I don't even know if he is still alive today, he hasn't called or written in about 18 months.

I think you should try talking to your parents express your problems and try and get them to talk to a doctor so he or she can tell them that they think you need it. Try the school thing on them. Saying that the quality and quantity of your work is decreasing and that adderall would help you get your work done. If you get adderall from a friend take it but check online and see if it is what that person says it is. Type it in google you can find plenty of website laying out the info on the pills and shapes and supplying pictures. If the pill or capsule has writing on it type that in its more efficient. If your parents say no I'd honestly go ahead and do it just dont OD over I'd say about 60mg 30 is about normal.

You shouldn't. Even if you're under 18 you can talk to your doc w/o your parents around. Most counselors and doctors know when you try to lie. That's why those tests have so many questions. Unless you're a genius you can't fake that stuff. What if something happened to you and they didn't know you were taking that stuff and gave you medicine that counter reacted it? It'd make more of a mess than what you are in now.
