Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
KJV
I am glad you got your answer. When I came here there was no answer. I went to a Bible website and looked up several translations and could not find it. SO I place what I found hoping you would say which translation you were using. Again I am glad you got your answer. God Bless.

some understand this to mean between sunset and nightfall (6-7pm). others say between the eve of the sun's decline and the eve of the sun's setting (3-5pm). the beginning of the hebrew's day started the evening before - "And the evening and the morning were the first day" Genesis 1

I'm not sure which English translation uses this language, but most modern translations go with "twilight." The practice was to kill the lamb as soon as the next day began (which back then began at 6pm).

I believe back then they had two sacrifices back then, but I'm not very sure. The annual sacrifice and the weekly sacrifice and/or a morning and evening sacrifice; I could be wrong so don't take my word for it. There could of been one too; not sure. I really forgot; I know I seen it in Bible somewhere.
You might have to read the Bible more to see the answer.

Between the [two] evenings is found in: Young's Literal Translation and The Darby Translation.
It means evening or twilight.
Night, basically. (Before the mornings of two days.)

I couldnt find that wording in any verse, and I checked three versions. It says in the evening, or during twilight, but I didnt see between the evenings anywhere.
