Don't feel bad I know tons of mexicans and spanish people that can't speak spanish... or look it. My step-brother looks like a white russian and he's puerto rican... To top it off, I speak more spanish than he does! I am Cherokee... and I am white, and I can't speak the native language either. So, honestly, don't feel so bad. I know Germans that can't speak German, French that can't speak french, and so on. If you feel so insecure, take spanish classes.

Thats ok, I am of mexican decent as well. Grew up in a spanish speaking household even. I don't speak it either. It's sad but we can learn anytime we want. Just tell your folks to speak it around you all the time and then when you don't understand tell them and tell them to teach you how to say it back and the proper way of speaking.

Yup, we're losing our language. I have a niece who looks white, is full blooded Mexican, and speaks spanish fluently! It's so cool!

SO WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION? IF YOUR ASKING IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THAT THEN MY OPINION WOULD BE THAT ITS KINDDA RETARDED THAT YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK SPANISH, THATS IF YOUR ABOUT 15 YEARS AND OLDER. MY KIDS ARE 7 AND 4 AND ONLY MY 4 YEAR OLD CAN SPEAK THE LANGUAGE REALLY GOOD BUT MY OLDEST HAS A HARD TIME BUT HE UNDERSTANDS EVERYTHING. HE IS CATCHING ON TO IT MORE AND MORE THOUGH. BY THE TIME THEIR IN THEIR TEENS I EXPECT THEM AND MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 10 MONTHS OLD RIGHT NOW TO SPEAK THE LANGUAGE GOOD. EMBRACE YOUR RACE, IM NOT SAYING YOU DONT BUT YOU DO NEED TO SPEAK YOUR PRIMARY LANGUAGE.

Dear, you don't come from Mexico - or at least if you did it was a long time ago! Because otherwise you should be able to speak Spanish.

Amen!! Finally!!! Someone in this country isn't pushing for everyone to learn Spanish.

Really though.. I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to learn, take classes. As for color, every country has light and dark skinned people. You just happen to be light skinned, or got some white genes from your parents or ancestors.
