The word says most of it: Belief that Christ was divine, and that He was resurrected, proving that He was divine and that He took away the original sin of Man with him (as long as you believe the first part, that is).
Key words: Belief and Christ and Resurrection. That's why the DaVinci Code's story of Jesus having a normal life with Mary Magdalene was important: It subtracts from the prophetic ravings of the apostle fan club which is known as the New Testament (even though it is only a fictional story).

To be an active partner in the work of the Holy Spirit who is slowly conforming us to the image or likeness of Christ. Part of that process is overcoming sin and being like Jesus who always did the will of his Father.

God gave free will to man to sin, even though god hates sin and knew men would do it. So he demanded a third party sacrifice of someone innocent to appease his anger caused by his Creation of things working out the way he knew they would all along, and then sacrificed himself to himself so that you could go on watching porn, as long as you believe all this junk.

3) Jesus Christ, who was perfect and innocent, volunteered to die, thus "paying the price" for sin
4) those who accept Jesus and are grateful for His efforts are given a pardon.
