It would help if you specified what kind of beer you like, because better beer is as varied as wine and other spirits.

For a mild biscuity beer, New Belgium's Fat Tire Amber Ale (widely available)

For a good hoppy pale ale, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Alesmith XPA, Red Tail Ale, Rogue Dead Guy Ale... wow there are tons in this area (not all are defined specifically as pale ale)

For a super hoppy IPA, Sierra Nevada Celebration, Hop Ottin IPA from Andersen Valley, and the milder Redhook IPA.

For a luscious dark beer, try Mackeson XXX stout, Stone Smoked Porter, Fullers London Porter, Anchor porter, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout... whew there's a lot here.

And for a belgian-style ale with a wide range of flavors from fruity to farmhouse, try Duvel, Hoegarden, Saison Dupont, etc...

Okay, you have to try the beeradvocate website -- a huge beer community with a huge database of better beer.

Wheach! It is a Peach flavored wheat beer. It's great because it's not overly fruity, but has just a hint of Peach flavor. Great summertime beer! It's made by O'Fallon brewery in Missouri. I'd say either that or Pyramid Apricot Weiss. Or, Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat is also very good.

what do you want strong and bitter, full of hops? smooth will ease of chugging? If you want swillabilitly try a pilsner which is lighter with out strong flavors, a stout which is rich and dark full of complex flavors or a an amber or red beer which tries to be happy medium. Try a german pilsner for light flavors. for a little more depth try a hefewiezien (wheat beer), a domestic red that is nice is Killians, and your stouts go from moderate to insane so ask around for how dark, strong, or bitter you would like it

Since it's all about the hops, I'd say jump into a couple of 22 oz Arrogant Bastard IPA's. It's what beer might have done if corporations didn't rule the world. Damn good beer. Good luck on your quest.

It might not be easy to find, but look around for a Dogfish Brewery Midas Touch. The stuff is amazing! I just had one last night and was pretty blown away. It's very potent at 9 percent, and it's very malty and sweet.

Dos XX (aka Dos Equis) is a pretty bad *** beer.

Or Blue Moon has a really good flavor, if you can find it.

p.s. No light beer? I think I love you

If you're going out to drink try to at least to sample different types of liquor and what not.

Going out and downing beer is not really considered drinking. If it were then hillbillys and rednecks would be world class connoisseurs.
