There is no cause to believe that a god exists whatsoever. There is absolutely NO proof of it. The bible doesn't count because it can say whatever it wants, but it still doesn't offer proof.

The better question is why YOU think there IS a god.

The most obvious evidence that a good god doesn't exist is all of the evil in the world. Besides that, there is no reason to believe in god. I don't believe in god just like I don't believe in Santa Clause or the tooth fairy.

What makes you so sure there aren't unicorns?

Its not so much that I'm sure there isn't a God, as much as I'm not sure there is a God. Get what I'm saying? There's no real proof (no, the world around me doesn't count as proof) and how can God be omnipotent and omnibenevolent? If he is in fact all good and all knowing, then why do bad things that are clearly in his power to stop, happen?

It's not necessary clear-cut like that. There's more than simply 'theist' and 'atheist. I have friends that believe in multiple Gods and/or Godesses, I have Buddhist friends, who technically don't worship God. I myself am an agnostic, meaning I see no reason or proof that there is or is not a God/Godess/etc.

So, it's not so much 'what makes you so sure' more like 'why do you believe the way that you do'?

After all, how is one that does believe in a G/god know that there is a G/god? Faith? Exactly.

Can anyone be that sure? I cant believe because all the Truth about Jesus and god has to be a crock of crap because he's suppose to be a peace loving being but that doesn't fit with this war loving world that he's supposed to have created. i don't know how we got here but i cant believe that a single human being put us here. How was he created? doesn't it take two to tango? Also how is it that the 'bible' of today is a translated version of the original Genesis? How is it that with today's technology that we are still trying to work out the evolution of man yet we are supposed to believe in a person that has supposed to be our creator. There's too many cracks in the story so i reckon its all just a money making crock of crap. I cant explain how we got here but it seems No one can can they. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

God is true. People in the Bible had the same problems as we do today. Just a couple days ago, I was doubting God, and i heard a story that was exactly the same as mine and I believed> All I can say is read the Bible and it will help you.

What makes me sure, is he fact that people feel the need to attempt to prove the existence of god by the inability of others to disprove the non-existence of god, rather than by presenting an actual rational case.

Have you ever watched someone give birth to a child...not on T.V. , but in real life. If you have...or whenever you look at your child, you realized that there has to be something greater out there. That greater is God.
