I am in the Navy, DEP. If I decide to change jobs and my recruiter finds out the new job is open and I am qualified, what would be the next step in the process? Would I be able to just have the job changed on my contract, I sign off and then I am finished?

Ask your recruiter to call the MEPS station and see if the job is open, and to check your qualifications for that position. If you qualify for the job, you will have to go back to MEPS and renegotiate your contract. You may gain, or lose, on bonuses, educational monies (not the GI Bill), or anything else that was guaranteed. Check out your options. It may be better to stay with what you have.

let your recruiter know that you are open to offers of other jobs. Often recruits from throughout the US do not make it to boot camp due to various reasons i.e injuries, legal problems etc. When this happens their spots need to be filled. The classifiers at MEPS will call around to the various recruiters they get along with and let them know there are open spots. in turn, the recruiters call the people in DEP who have expressed a willingness to ship to bootcamp early and/or change job guarantees. Just remember that changing your job can very well change the date you are to report to boot camp and vice versa. Also remember that you can often change your job once you have been in for a while

Essentially, as a servicemember myself... Until you actually raise your right hand a second time (usually just a couple of hours prior to your departure to basic training), the military doesn't actually own you yet, or so I've been told by senior NCO's.

Thus, renegotiating the contract should be fairly simple and straightforwards. Just let your recruiter know you want to change jobs, and give him/her some time in advance.

Also, thank you for your sacrifice. I was in for almost 7 years before anyone ever thanked me. Though I'm not religious, May God bless and watch over you.

First they have to see if you qualify, and then the time you are supposed to go to your current job would have to be the same time. There is lots of paperwork involved in changing a job. My husband was a recruiter in Chicago. So talk to your recruit and see what he/she has to say. But changing a job is not that easy.

in case you've not reported as well camp yet, discover your recruiter and ask. if you're at present in boot camp, ask your CC if you're already assigned to "A" college, ask your chief. it really is accessible yet i do not comprehend in the adventure that they are going to enable it. plenty relies upon upon how a lot the military desires MAs or DCs
