are you reading my medical history??? lol. I'm a diabetic and your age. When I found out, my doc put me on a carb counting diet. I lost 30 lbs in a couple months. I am 5'10 and weighed a little over 200, but I don't look like all my friends that weighed that much. they were a lot rounder :) give yourself 3meals a day, 45 carbs per meal, 2 snacks with 15 carbs each...and eat every two hours, this keeps your body metabolism goin..meal, snack, meal snack meal.. and don't eat right before bed. oh..and nix the soda
btw...when I did all that, my sugar probs eased up a little, i also just had a baby, and gained 35 lbs, and eating this way, i lost all of it by my first checkup...4 wks later. make sure you eat lots of fruits and veggies, too...
as for excercise...my doc said a good start for busy people is 20 minutes of steady activity 3 times a week

Try the South Beach diet.
It's pretty simple really. I started it last year in June at 170, size 14 and by August I was 135, size 8. It's really neat how it works, because it stops cravings for sugar and carbs, so you don't have to try to stop yourself from eating them, you just stop wanting them. A high school teacher of mine lost 40 pounds in one semester, and my best friend dropped an astounding 100 in about a year.
Basically, you take out refined grains, like white sugar and enriched flour, and eat 100% whole grains instead. You also take out really high fat meats, like fast food burgers, but can eat lean protiens, like chicken and lean beef. For the first two weeks, called Phase 1, you take out grains and fruit all together, and then slowly start to add fruit and grains back in. I'd suggest buying the "Good Carbs, Good Fats Guide" because it lists everything that you can and can't eat. It really helps. I'm on the maintenance phase (Phase 3) now, and I'm still maintaining 135. After the first 2 weeks, it's a really easy diet, and it just makes you feel healthier. I'm only 18, and have the will power of two year old holding a cookie jar, and I'm still managing to do it.
Also, this diet is proven to significantly reduce heart disease, blood pressure, and even TAKES DIABETICS OFF OF INSULIN. It started out as a diet for this doctor's heart patients, and they all lost weight, and some of the diabetics said that they stopped taking insulin completely.
Oh yeah, and you don't HAVE to exercise for it to work. Exercise makes it faster, but it's not required.

If you have just started putting on the weight recently when nothing in your life has changed I would suggest seeing your doctor first. Although you think you may be eating healthily it may helpto use the my fitness pal app you can get it on smart phones and in the computer and you just keep a track of everything you eat it not only shows how many calories are in food but also how much fat and sugar it also keeps track of your exercise for you. I used it to plan my meals as I could see which had less fat and fewer calories. There is no quick solution as you need to lose the weight and stick to a healthy program, most pills or diets created to lose weight fast means once you have stopped the diet you will simply put the weight back on Good luck x

Eating a diet that stresses protein (poultry and fish are best, unless you are a vegetarian and then soy is very good), low glycemic carbohydrates (look up a glycemic index) and good fat (olive oil for cooking, almonds or peanuts for snacking), may ease some of that weight off you.
I am losing mine because I had to go on a yeast cleanse diet. A systemic yeast syndrome (easier for diabetics to get) can add or keep pounds on you.
Yeah, losing weight when you are type 2 diabetic is very hard.

When you talk about your weight, you should tell your height. Type 1 of type 2 diabetes? This site has everything you need to know. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) soon surpassing hunger and infectious disease. So you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic).
You need to re-learn how to eat. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, slow ways to lose weight, raw foods and anti-water. Learn everything on site below so you can understand how food and exercise affects your body. Do this and you can be thin. Do this not, and you will remain part of the biggest pandemic in all of history. Due to this pandemic, for the first time in 100 years, the children of Americans have a lower life expectancy than their parents.

You could try playing that game Dance Dance Revolution if you have a PlayStation lying around. It is fun, you can lose weight from it, and it can be a great activity to do with kids. I play it with my nephews and it keeps them active when they are cooped up in the house. Do that with eating the right meals and you'll probably lose something.

Carb Counting will help, your body does not produce enough insuline to cut the sugars in the body. Or it may do it too much, it all depends on what type of diabetic you are. Ask your doctor, that is the best bet.
