The USA is a piece of cake to illegal immigrants in comparison to how Mexico treats illegals. My daughter's boyfriend is from Honduras and he has a helluva time getting through Mexico but he breaths a sigh of relief when he crosses over the border into the USA.

Yep, my daughter is in love with an illegal immigrant and I HATE it! He was deported from Canada in December and is getting ready to head on back any day now and I am hoping he won't make it. I hope Mexico catches him and sends him back and if he makes it to the USA, I hope the border patrol will ship him back, and if he keeps getting caught and returned, I hope she will eventually give up on him and move on. I hate him for putting her through this. I hate him for ever having come here illegally and meeting her, in the first place. The fact that he has already been deported from both the USA (several times) and Canada once, means that there is pretty well no way that he can ever come back legally. I dread that my daughter may decide that in order to be with him, she will have to move to Honduras. It is a dreadful country! She has visited there twice and the photos she returned with tell me that I do NOT want my daughter and future grandchildren to have to live in that country! The village where he and his family lives has NO electricity, NO sewage system, NO proper garbage disposal, and they have such primitive societal conditions that include a one room school that most only attend to grade 6 and women all give birth to their babies at home, hence an extremely high infant mortality rate.

In fact, I am sorry to have to say this, but I am hopeful that he will literally disappear on his next attempt to immigrate illegally - take that however you want. I'm afraid that if he doesn't drop off the face of the earth, he will eventually convince my daughter to come to Honduras, if that is the only way they can find to be together. How many of you would like this for your child?

I travel to Mexico frequently and I find that Mexicans have a much more laid back attitude toward things like immigration. There are currently enough jobs to go around to those that want them, so they do not have the fear of a shrinking economy to draw attention to issues like immigration. As the standard of living increases, it may become an issue. A good question to ask them in 5 or 10 years.

I strongly support legal immigration, if you're looking for a better lifestyle, you must work and pay for it.

I disagree with illegal immigration, but I think I understand it, people is desperate and hungry, they do it just to survive, if they go peacefully just to work, they shouldn't be treated like criminals or animals... they must regularize their situation in the US, to live in peace there, that way would be better for both sides.

And it is sad to see good people's efforts ruined by illegals that take advantage of the situation and start breaking systematically the law, forming gangs, singing the american national anthem in spanish (when you're in the US, you must respect the national symbols as you want yours to be respected as well) and claiming those territories were ours and we'll take them back (like a form of invasion). These kind of people give good reasons to racist groups to convince good american people to reject every latin they see, and instead of helping their own people, make things even harder.

And it is true about the answer above... we are not in the right to ask for the US to ease to us their immigration policies, when ours are practically impossible, and our southern border patrols treat illegals like crap... I agree

Mexico has the toughest immigration laws in the Western Hemisphere.
Anybody they catch they send them right back to HONDURAS or whereever they came from.
If you are not a MEXICAN CITIZEN...they can deport you for any reason or no reason at all.
