And if that was the case, how should Americans respond to the views of a person, that is biased by affiliation?.

No. And my family wouldn't ask me too! It doesn't mean I hate them. it means they need to follow laws and values. Something many don't have.

No, I would not turn a blind eye. I don't know that I would report them, but I would do all in my power to discourage them from coming illegally and would tell them that I will not help them in that endeavour. However, I would help them and encourage them to do all that they have to do to come here legally, regardless of how long it may take and how much it may cost me to help them (the cost part would depend on how close we are, of course, as if not too close, they may have to come up with the cost part themselves) but I would help them get all the information they needed and help them fill out the forms, etc. I would never condone their coming illegally. There may be short-term gains from illegal immigration, but there are far too many long-term losses, such as having to always live in fear of being discovered and deported and the longer you are in the country illegally, the more illegal acts you will have to commit in order to maintain living here, and the longer you are here, the harder it will be when you are discovered and deported. After you have put down roots, maybe had children and possibly grandchildren and other extended family ties, made friends, etc. it will be harder than ever when you are found out and torn from your life to be returned to where you came from. You have to think, too, about the pain you will cause to your loved ones when this happens and the shame you will feel. It is NOT worth it!

Would you turn a blind eye if your family member is murderer. I would think not. But what are we discussing here, we have turned a blind eye for years now and it has only became an issue when Mr. Bush needed a distraction from the devastation in Iraq and all our dead soldiers. Why don't we look at the harder questions and why aren't we asking why the gas prices are so high?

My family came here legally and went through naturalization - so I have a great deal of respect for someone who goes to Philadelphia like she did and drags all 4 children with her to be an American. Would I be angry at her if she did it "the wrong way" I have NO CLUE - she didn't! I could never presume to judge what children of others would do or feel. I do know that it is a problem and we can only fix it NOW - right at this point... before we totally lose any semblence of control.

I had to make this decision myself. I was dating a Brazilian girl and she wanted to come to the U.S. to see if she could live here since we were thinking about marriage.

We went to get a tourist visa and were turned down. They said because we were dating they though she was really trying to immigrate.

We were devastated. A Peruvian friend suggested we fly her to Mexico and pay a smuggler to get he in the US. I said no way would I want that for someone I love. So we applied for a immigration visa and after two years it was granted and we had to get married withing 90 days of her entering the country so she had 90 days to decide if she could stand living here.

Probably, But would have no right to be treated any less than a criminal when the Feds catch me. Its illegal and the laws must be enforced. That's the bottom line.

NO WAY!!! Illegal is still ILLEGAL!! I would try to get my family member to return to their home country, to do the HONORABLE thing, and try to come here LEGALLY!!

If your family was a THEIF,who was stealing from someone else, would YOU turn them in??? Because, basically, this is what ILLEGALS are doing!!! STEALING jobs, identitys, and benefits that do NOT belong to them!!!

I have family that has come here illegally and I think they could have come here legally. They should get sent back.

Well I wouldn't report them if that is what you are asking, but wait, I don't report the illegals here now, so..... I guess that makes me unbiased right?
