A friend was telling me that he knew some kids in the 8th grade (about 13 or 14) who did drugs (like steroids or cocain etc.) at his school. I used to go to this person's school and it is a very well managed Private School. Do you think it is plausible that 13 and 14 year olds in NYC would be on drugs, or do you think it was made up to try to sound "hip" or "cool?"

Assume it is true unless you have proof to the contrary. Your friend may need your support in the face of temptation or social pressure. I hope you get very tough with your friend if they even think of going near the stuff.

No I beleive it can be true because kids these days find ways to get hold of these substances. I'm 14 and never did drugs a day in my life and never will but I have had associates that skiped school to take drugs with there friends. It really doesn't make a difference if the school is private or public and I should know because I've attended both. Private school has just as much drama as public schools but less fights. Since private schools keep very private thier business rarely sets foot in the open. The best way you can save your friend is to first tell them you're thier friend and will never tell them to do any thing that wiil hurt them or let hurt themselves. Next remind them what drugs can do to them and how badly it will effect thier future don't make it sound like you're tring to be thier parent make sure you just sound like their friend.

Absolutely NOT made up. The problem is epidemic. Some children are faking hyperactivity in order to get prescriptions which they sell to the higgest bidder in the lunch room. Do a google search.

its easily possible and probably true. Most people have no idea what goes on in schools. Just because its a private school doesnt mean there are only good kids. Bad kids and druggies are everywhere.

I know ten yrs. ago when I was that age I was doing everything that was going around. Do not let age blind you to what is going on. Early teens are the most influential people. If you care for these kids talk to them now, before it gets out of control.

yes, the freakin rich cracker kids, they can get their hands on anything, man i go to school with freakin crackers out here in the boonies that haave week long acid trips

very possible. kids have a way of getting drugs no matter where they are if they want them. I would not take this lightly
