what?? don't feel bad for someone who posts lousy answers because they might have more faith than me? this is not a superiority complex, this is communicating effeciently so our posts make sense.

Excellent question! Unfortunately, this is the Internet. Here, the lowest common denominator bears it's grizzly visage. Sadly, the amount of stupidity and frighteningly poor grammar on "teh Intarweb" as they say in the vernacular, is staggering.

Parents are not getting involved as they should nowadays, so pidgen english, hacker leet speak, and IM abbreviations, which should be no more than innocent fun, are becoming nearly a mainstream form of communication. The continued bastardization of English as a language is a tragedy, and I wish there was some way to fix it right now. Until parents all start doing what my parents did (brainwashing me to speak properly at all times), and pop-culture ceases to dismiss the importance of education (in favor of pretending to be a pimp "gansta"), this degeneration will likely continue unabated.

Bad grammer won't keep someone out of heaven. God looks at the heart. I admit there are some on here who either can't spell, type, or just to save time, spell phonetically. It is the message they are sending that is important. If someone is speaking about the Lord, and is sincere, then I don't look too hard at the way it is written, as much as what is said.

Some might spell bad, and set a poor example, where others are scholars; yet the christian scholar may set a bad example by keeping a messy house, or finding fault in people who do not speak or write as well.

I am sure there will be some really bad spellers and readers in heaven, as much as great writers. Isn't is great that Jesus doesn't look at the outward, but the inward? That means a lot to me, I'm tellin' ya;) Take care.

Your goal should not be to come off looking smart, if you are looking to spread the love of God, you should be more worried about the message you are giving than in the way it's delivered. Everyone makes a little typo here and there, if anything, it shows that you are human and make mistakes.

I personally go back and personally spell and grammar check my answers, a few things slip through every now and then, but I'm OK with that.

I do know where you are coming from, I think if you're not in elementary anymore, you should be able to form a sentence correctly. And speaking of that, I notice quite a few grammatical mistakes in your question, mostly capitalization.
It's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, sorry, but it's true.

yes, we are supposed to set the example.

a good example would be:
1. take into concideration that there are younger people on this forum
2. respect that not everybody on a world wide web is a native english speaker. (people from all over the world, like me, com to this forum)
3. understand that people want to answer questions sometimes in a too rapid manner, and they make typos
4. don't blame people that the spellcheck does not always work properly.

i'm not a native english speaker, english is only my 4rth language. It would be a far better example to show some respect for all those in this world who come to this forum and at least try to speak and type english.

i, for one, will never make an opinion or a statement less valid based on a spelling error. it seems too silly to do that, and also kinda arrogant, don't you agree?

hahahaha...my ribs are hurting here!

no offense, but you're missing the boat!

We aren't suppose to be setting the example in 'that sort of way' (spelling/grammer/intelligence). We are suppose to be setting the example when it comes to faith & Christian living. We aren't here to impress people with our "intelligence" -- Afterall, we are no better than the next person, in that respect.

It's comments like what you made that give people the impression that Christians think they're better than everyone else...when that couldn't be further from the truth!

Although, I agree. It does get annoying when someone's grammer/spelling are really poor.

If proper schooling were still taught, then spelling and grammar would not be an issue; but since it is more important in school that we teach our children about sexual alternatives; family planning; multi-cultural and diversity living; then we don't have time to focus on if they can read and write, know their numbers, and do them adequately. It has little to do with our Christianity.

Ah, cut everyone a break. There's going to be perfectionists out there of course, but really the Atheists and Agnostics will still call us morons if we've got perfect command of English or not.

I see your point, but remember this passage, "Isn't it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these "nobodies" to expose the hollow pretensions of the "somebodies"? (1 Corinthians 1:27, The Message Version)
