GMAC recently did a study where they asked people from around the country a 20 question, multiple choice exam on basic rules of the road (this was meant to simulate a standard state licensing test). Nearly 10% of the people studied would have failed. Is it any wonder there are a*&holes on the roads with you?

Most people that tailgate always say they don't. It's like alcoholics. They're always in denial. I have found that even after these people have been in accidents they still tailgate again after they get out the hospital from being in a sling. It's like speeding. The thrill of being at the edge I guess. They ought to start a , Tailgaters club annonymous.

Well, you got one thing correct.....stupidity! That and people seem to think that if your ride someone's bumper they'll move over for you. I'm more likely to slam on the brakes. What ticks me off more is seeing someone tailgate when they can clearly go around the other car (as in there is no other traffic to hender them from driving around the other car). Yeah, slower traffic is suppose to stay to the right, but most people don't remember that part of their drivers education training or what was in their written driving test.....unfortunately. And most drivers think that if you're not going at the limit they want to drive then they have to practically rear end you to get you to move.

It's just like you said.....STUPIDITY!!!

They are in a hurry to get to where they are going. They also forget you put your brakes on and they are on top of you because they can't stop in time. People that tailgate are not only stupid but are idiots.

I can't stand it either, I always hit my brakes hard when they do it. I think they just have not been in or known someone who has been in a really bad wreck to know any better. Let them get smashed up good once so that their parents cant payfor it and they are stuck with a junker for a while!

Well if people didn't drive so idiotically slow, then people wouldn't tailgate. And I'm sure that probably close to 99% of tailgaters never get in accidents. (Knock on wood!)

Some people just have to be wherever yesterday. And they are just plain ignorant. I say they should have left ten minutes earlier if they need to be somewhere at a certain time.
