I have tried a couple of tequilas and they are good. Has anyone had Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo or how about Pitron? Any sugestions?

If you are looking to impress and want a smooth tasting tequila, go with Patron Silver. For a little more kick go with Patron Anejo. Bottles range in price usually 1 Liter for $50 in Southern, CA.. Tres Generaciones Is also great! It's up there in ranking along with Cabo Wabo, also no head aches in the morning. Hornitos, Hueradura or Casadores is also pretty good. More bang for a buck and also taste great. When inviting friends over to share your margaritas then bust out with some low end stuff like Jose Cuervo which will run you $20-$30 a bottle. Anyhow Enjoy!

To be honest, a good grade of tequila is often lost in the margarita, salt, triple sec and lime juice combo for a standard margarita. You might want to try a "top shelf" margarita made with a "call" tequila and a float of Grand Marnier.
