press f8 to agree, esc to disagree - i press f8 and it just sits there staring at me. esc declines agreement and reboots. wtf???

the problem may not be your software. I believe its your cd rom drive. i have thesame problem when i installed my xp OS in my pc. Good thing i have a spare cd rom drive. Try to install it with a different cd rom drive.

You LITERALLY have to "pretend" you read the D--- thing. If you just go right to the button to choose F8, MS thinks you are cheating. You have to at least run the slider down as though you were really reading the agreement and then the F8 button should work.

I had a problem installing XP when there was a second HDD present. Other than that, check with MS-KB.
