The rules of dating typically are that the male will pay (unless it's a "dutch"date).. Etiqually speaking, the one who invites is supposed to pay

When it comes time to pay, pull out the cash!!! Insist that you pay this time and she/he can pay next time! That way you can ask for a second date without blurting it out and feeling foolish!! And it saves the stress when you walk to the door to say good night and you have spent the entire night trying to figure out how to ask for a second date!!! Limit the stress on the first date!!! Plus, I think its a smooth move!!! I'd take the second date!!

Pick up the check when it comes to the table and start acting like you're going to pay for it. Unless he's hopelessly macho, he won't mind at all, trust me.
