If your kid knows more than you, then you're either retarded, have a small brain, or your kid's a freaking genius.

they are better in terms of emotional and psychological aspects. but that doesn't mean a child with a single parent can't be better. sometimes these kinds of situation makes the child with the single parent strong and can survive any difficult situations, which means that these children still have good qualities.
some kids would even think that they can show the world that they are not affected by their situation and can really excel in everything they do.

a child with one involved and loving parent may turn out "better" than a child with two uninvolved and uncaring parents. It's about quality, not quantity. We would all choose 2 loving parents for any child, but many single parents have raised incredible kids.

Not all children with both parents turn out better, but a great many do. Children who have more adults that care for them are more likely to do well because they have that love and guidence there.
As for your other question. I do not believe in "lying" to a child. If a child is old enough to ask the question, he or she is old enough to have it explained to them to the best of their understanding. Children know when people are keeping things from them and not being honest with them. They are small people but people nonetheless. Naturally we want to guard and protect them for as long as possible, but I do believe it's better to teach and inform them than to keep them in the dark.

I believe that as a parent we don't see it as lying, we actually think that we are protecting our kids from whatever is out there. But like u said kids are actually learning a lot more and are independent at early ages, maybe we should try the honest approach no matter what the question or answer.

I have never lied to my daughter but then I'm not divorced or a single parent. Children who have both parents just have another person who cares they exist and is concerned for their welfare as an important human being in their life. When people have promiscous sex and bring children into this world without two loving parents they are wreaking havock with society as all children should be wanted and loved.

Our children need a mom and a dad. Men and women play different roles in raising children by nature, and if one parent is not around, the child misses out on what that parent has to teach them. You might enjoy listening to Dr. Laura. www.drlaura.com

Because two parents can split the time they spend with their kids and be more rested and better tempered. Two parents make more money and have more time to spend on their kids. Also, the two styles give kids more to learn form and usually different approaches to learning and life

I don't know is that is always true. I think that it all depends on the upbringing of the child. One parent can do just as good of a job as two parents.
