The olive slacks are going to be perfect. I would use a dusky color that reflects the sultry summer feeling. Sage green, browns, rusts would be beautiful. Even though green is a cool color by nature, olive green is an earth-based pigment and is more warm than cool. It is not a primary color, so you should not use a shade of a primary color for your dresses. (Primary colors are red, yellow, and blue} You should stick with warm colors. Sunflowers and Queen Anne's lace are blooming at the end of August- think of their colors. Golden yellow, rust, brown, salmon, and lacy ivory.
Good Luck, and congratulations!

That deep olive is really throwing off the color arrangement for the bridesmaids...thats why your probably having trouble. Its really difficult to find a nice color to match with deep Olive. Sorry I wasn't much help. I was thinking of peach but with your light ivory dress that doesn't flow right when its time for group pictures. The best I can come up with is getting the girls a lighter shade of olive and maybe put a little light ivory mixed in there dresses so everyone can coordinate. Yeah....that sounds good.
I can picture the grooms walking down the aisle with deep olive and the bridesmaids having a lighter shade of olive mixed in with ivory. Then they can where ivory color shoes and have ivory color flowers on. Wow...now that I have typed all this I think it sounds beautiful....I hope you like my idea. have a great wedding day and enjoy your moment. I can't wait for my big day!!!

HERE'S WHATCHA DO .... you need to go to a fabric store with a pair of the slacks in hand. Your dress will flow just fine as long as you don't go with yellow, ivory, or white. (yellow will make the dress look too white, ivory is just out of the question, and white would make your dress look dingy instead of a beautiful ivory color). You take the slacks and just start putting them with different fabrics and colors. it will finally POP when you see it. YOU WILL DEFINITELY KNOW!!! If you want to really get an idea of what it will look like, you can take a swatch of your dress with you. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TELLING MY BRIDES FOR 19 YRS, AND IT HASN'T FAILED THEM YET!!!! good luck, dear!

I once saw a wedding with bridesmaid dresses in a cinnamon color before. The wedding had colors similar to what you describe. cinnamon or maybe a chocolate or taupe colors would also look lovely. they sound boring but the dresses i have seen are very pretty. I work for a wedding center and have seen the actual dresses. Earth tones can work.

With you in ivory and the men in olive, I would have a deep violet colour accented with some olive green in it as well. Dark colours for the bridesmaids look amazing and it also helps to bride to stand out as well.

What colors do you like? I think dark scarlet, sage or burnt orange are fantastic. If you have an ivory dress, I would go with something warm.
Check out some wedding magazines, and cut out the pictures that you like. Generally you are drawn to similar colors.
Good luck and congrats!

Dusty rose....My daughter just got married and her colors were dusty rose, brown, and green. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding. We used the green as an accent color. But the dusty rose will be a prefect color to go with olive green, and especially with your ivory dress. Good luck with the wedding, and have a happy happy life.

Given that it is in August, you will want light colours so stay away from matching with the guys slacks. However, a pale peach or maybe a soft yellow would be nice. Don't do blue either though. My choice would be a shade of peach.

I think either Salmon or a Celadon green would be awesome for bridesmaids dresses, and they depending on what kind of flowers you've chosen, you could have the girls carry Lillies with yellow roses or Ivory roses with peach babies breath.
Let me know how it turns out!
