in the bible he says he will heal any sick that pray to him (James 5:15) and will grant any prayers you request so why will jesus heal people who had a chance to get better on their own (all the people who claim to be healed by prayer and miracles), but ignore those whos only chance is through jesus (like amputees and other prayers that are unambiguous and can only come true by prayer)?
jesus is very clear in getting the point across that there are no limits to what you can pray for and what he can give you,
you ever see an amputee regrow a limb by praying to jesus?
miraculous cancer dissapearance and things like this are ambiguous because many other things couldve caused the recession (immune system, doctors theraphy, force of will , etc.)

First of all, if you are looking for miracles like that to believe in Jesus, then you might be disappointed. If you had a friend who was an amputee, and you witnessed someone pray to God to heal that person's arm, would you right then admit you believe in him and take him as your savior? Would you say, "Praise God! It is true, you do exist!" Don't think it would be that easy to do. Jesus healed many people when he was alive, in many different ways. No the bible doesn't specifically mention a particular healing such as an amputee's arm, but that doesn't mean he didn't do it. Not all of his miracles are recorded I am sure. He did reattach the centurian's ear when Peter cut it off with his sword. He did heal the man's withered hand on the Sabbath. He did raise Lazarus from the dead. If you can't believe those miracles, what makes you think you would believe a new arm or leg miracle?
To answer your question; why not replace an amputee's limb, if he/she asks for it? Because that is not how we were created. He created us with the bodies we have. If he had wanted us to regrow limbs, he would have enabled our bodies to do so. Yes, it would be a miracle to regrow a limb out of thin air, or even over weeks or months. But knowing the hearts of men, men who claim to need to see miracles such as that to believe in him, it would be a waste of time.
Walking on water, and calming storms; raising people from the dead; feeding thousands of people with just a few loaves of bread, and fish; making the blind to see; and even walking on water. These are miracles, are they not?
How about this: 1 Kings13:4-6
13:4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.
13:5 The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.
13:6 And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as [it was] before.
There are plenty of miracles in the old testament, as well as the new. You just have to look. I will say a prayer for you. Take care.

Crazy miracles like that tend to happen a lot in the backwaters of other countries. When I went to Ghana 7 years ago, my friends prayed for a blind girl that got healed, a guy with a lame leg, etc.
Why doesn't it happen very often in the States? Greed and jealousy. We would try to exploit God for our own fame and fortune. We already do, actually. But they don't have TV cameras and book signing appearances in the rural villages of India.

Read your Bible. James 5 does not say that he will heal any sick that pray to him.
James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him."
The prayer offered by the elders will "restore" (not heal) and if he has committed sins they will be forgiven him.

I know this sounds stupid but to put it to a point as in the movie bruce almighty when he gave everyone exactly what they want the $hit hit the fan, and everythng was in chaos, at times, when you pray jesus hears you but at times he knows exactly how much you can take, and wants you to fight it on your own, but god has a plan for us all, if your plan is to live than be it if not than be it.

most of us who truly believe in christ will never fully understand why some prayers don't get answered right away or at all but as a true believer this is where our faith in our Lord is tested God bless brother

it is very unlikely that they will grow a limb. although the power of god is boundless. but we are all given trials in this life to test our faith in him their trials are just greater because they are stronger spirits and can afford to be tested to that limit.
