What kind of thoughts do people with ocd have? Is it about things that have happened and you can't get them out of your head and it causes anxiety?

sjones' answer helps. I didn't think it was normal to think constantly about something(along with others but not as long) everyday for a year straight.

usually repetitive, disturbing thoughts, that you have difficulty turning you brain off, and not thinking of them, for me its usually watching anything bad on the news, i can go on for days thinking about what a terrible place the world is, and about all the terrible things happening here on earth. Look up ocd online. I think the thoughts vary from person to person. But, there are many meds available that actually help you to control or stop those awful, obsessive thoughts.

No what you are describing is not OCD. With OCD you might think obsessively about wether you turned out the light, even the you know you did and not be able to rest until you go check. (Often such a person will go check and the find themselves obsessing about it again and have to check again, even though now the know and have double checked.)
It sounds dlike you have generalized anxiety. this can often be controlled without medication.
A good mental health counselor can help and your county should have a clinic where you can see one at little or no charge.
