Most people get caught because they run in a half-hearted manner as if expecting to be caught, and so they are. The best way to elude an officer who's hot on your trail, especially during a foot chase, is to suddenly stop and turn and reach in your waistband. Shout (and make sure it's audible enough for everyone to hear) that you're going to kill him/her if he doesn't retreat. Most cops will take the hint and decide it's just not worth it.

To those who believe bluffing about the use of deadly force against a law enforcement officer is a good idea you are "dead" wrong. Screaming the fact that you will "kill the cop" will only help that cop, as you have now created witnesses that will testify that the dead guy threatened the officer's life. Therefore the police officer was forced to use his weapon since he was in fear of death or great bodily harm.
Depending on the seriousness of a crime some state do not engage in vehicle pursuits. The logic behind this is that property is not worth a life, Therefore it is unlikely you will be in a high speed chase because of a misdemeanor. For a serious crime against another such as armed robbery, aggravated assault, homicide or aggravated battery you will likely be hunted like a dog.

First you make sure you have a good pair of tennis shoes,"that don't blink", then comfortable cloths, and definetly know your area you are running in. Once you are in motion take cover and crouch low in a well hidden place. Dig a hole in the ground or hide under someones house, but stay low. And for gods sakes turn you cell phone off dead give away. That applies to short time running. The most important thing is being in good shape cardiualvascilar/if you smoke dig a hole and bury yourself untill clear. GOOD LUCK. and may the force be with you.

what a stupid question. If you have to run from the cops then you are not man enough to accept responsibility for your actions. when people run from the Police all they do is put other people in danger. So stop being stupid and stand up and take responsibility for what you did in the first place

go with woods and hope they don't have dogs or a helicopter. if they do just give up. also watch cops and don't do what the criminals on the show do. it couldn't hurt to know what not to do.

you don't i hope next time you try and run from the police they send a dog after you and it turn you into a chew toy or you break you leg jumping off of something
