I got a friend who recently had to move from Austin to California. Does anyone know of any local food places that ship food out there? I know about the County Line Air Ribs. I was wondering about any other places that can help to relieve her homesickness.

John G, I hear you. And she has tried many local eateries that she has enjoyed. But this is a comfort food situation. It's hard to sever roots totally.

My Brother lives in Houston, but craves food from a place near where he went to college in Pennsylvania. It's a pizza place that delivers, but he calls them and has them prepare the food, put it in a FedEx box and they send it to him. He pays for the FedEx and the food and probably a big tip too. They send him pizza and calzone.

Any restaurant would do it if you offer them enough lettuce!

If she likes BBQ (and who doesn't around here?) the Salt Lick ships it's BBQ or even just the bottles of their kicka$$ sauce. Much better than County Line in my humble opinion.

Don't you think that might make her more homesick one bite and a remembrance of home , I think she should just get used to the food out here. there's tons of great place to eat here in Cali especially in L.A.
