There is braille on drive-thru ATM's because it was mandated by the same committee that requires the "No Dogs Allowed except Seeing Eye Dogs" sign on the door at Walmart.

It is amusing.
However, by law the banks are required to have braille on all their ATMS, wherever they are. It's just easier, rather than making special non-braille machines for drive thrus.

My Grandma was blind (God rest her soul) and I used to drive her to the ATM regularly. She would still ask me questions, but she seemed to get a lot of info from the braille.

I have always wondered that! It would be pretty scary if a blind person was driving!! Maybe for blind people its a walk through.... or maybe so someone can drive them to the ATM and the blind person can hop out and enter their own pin so someone can't jack with their account.

Sometimes, I find that maybe some of the blind walk through and use the ATMs.
It could be possible.
Otherwize, they have to walk through the banks.
Just a guess.

I think it's pretty standard to make all the machines with braille...regardless of where they put them.

Haven't you been cut off while driving and wondered the same thing before "That blank-blank - blank must be blind for driving that way..."
