I use a red bowl that has two actually is 2 square bowls side to side. It is actually a cat bowl, so i just use that because cat is gone now. Also, is there anything wrong with giving water to doggies all the time and at meal times, or is it just the kibbles or can food? <- Besides the fact that the doggie might pee a lot..
Ok.

I feed out of a small stainless steel kennel bowl for the food.
They go in the dish washer and clean up and idsinfect really easy.
As for water the dog should have water available all the time and it should be kept fresh and clean.
I use an 8 qurst plastic bucket and change it two times per day.
I have several dogs and they drink alot.

Stainless Steel bowls are the way to go. They are much more sanitary, and plastic can leech into the food. It's ok to let them have some water after they eat. Some dogs are proned to Bloat, so it's very important to not let them drink too much, and also they should be quiet for about an hour after they eat... and if they can be quiet before they eat that would be good as well.

Stainless steel or ceramic bowls are the best!
Plastic bowls should be changed every 6 months because bacteria can live in the plastic (cannot live on stainless steel or ceramic)

dogs need water avalaible all the time (except between bed time and morning if they are crated at night... reducing access to water can hurt their kidneys/bladder

Water should be provided at all times, not just mealtime. The stainless steel bowls are recommended for dogs, but I forget why. Something about plastic being bad.

My dog Sam eats off a hard plastic green plate (which is on a nice soft mat for him to sit on). I offered him about 3 different bowls, but he must have felt weird putting his head down towards them, and wanted an open plate instead.

You should offer water to your dog at all times. Dogs are not able to sweat, they use their tongues to cool themselves off. So, offering a water at all times helps keeps them cool.

Any dish is fine for dogs as long as you clean it often.
