To make a long story short, I let my sister borrow a car of mine. She's had it now for about 2 months, since her car is down. This month she only paid me half of the money and now Im having difficulty in reaching her as if she is avoiding me. I know where she lives and want to get my car back. The problem is this, I only have a valet key left....Can I get into the 2005 infiniti FX35 without making the alarm go off with just a valet key? Or should I just order a whole new set of keys with the alarm fob attached and then take the car back? How long does it take to get a new set of keys made anyway? Thanks for your help..

The valet key will probably cause the alarm to sound within a few miles. It may also prevent you from restarting the engine once it's shut off.

You can get another key at the dealership, but they need to have the car to program it to the car's computer so that it will work. Until the key is linked to the car's computer, it won't work at all. Be prepared to pay anywhere from $100.00 to $300.00 for the key. Infinitis tend to run to the high end of that range. If you do use the valet key, drive straight to the nearest dealership. Alternatively, see if the dealership can dispatch a service vehicle and make the key and link it up while you wait.

Just go to her home and get your car back! If she refuses to surrender the keys, call the police. More than likely she'll surrender the keys as soon as you do that and certainly when the cops show up. Yeah, this will cause some friction between you two, but she's the instigator, not you!

You can get into the car with the valet key, the alarm shouldnt go off, if it does, put a club on the wheel so she cant use it and has to return the key, or the alarm will get her out of the house and you can get the key.

If all else fails, report it to the police, ask them to go over there, if she doesnt hand over the key, report it stolen and drop the charges after she submits to handing over the key.

go to the dealership and get the key with the alarm fob attached because yea the alarm will go off plus if your car is a new model that plastic on your key (the alarm fob) it sometimes has a little sensor inside that when it is in the ignition it sends a signal and lets your car star and if you just have the key without the fob the car might not start.

First call the dealer to see how long it takes. I got new keys for my Nissan in 2 days, but also know someone who got theirs the same day. OR, if it takes too long, dig out your title & go to a locksmith. It usually costs between $50-$100 for a locksmith to get in, I'm not sure if it costs extra to disable the alarm. If you have the registration as well as the title, you could also have it towed. You can get a copy of the registration at your DMV.

Or you could call the police & show up at her house. You will get the car & keys back, but your sister will probably never speak to you again.

Okay, it's your car. Your name is on the title, so go to the house and ask for the key back. If she does not respond well to your request, CALL THE POLICE. You are securing your property and need assitance. They will ask for the title or registration..It's in your name, so they will require the car to be returned to you and inform your sister that any complaints she has, needs to be taken to civil court.

I Think that the key you have should get you into the car, butI'd really ask her for hers!

If you know where she lives, why don't you just knock on her door and tell her you're taking the car back? If she ignores your knock, just camp out on her doorstep until she comes out, she has to go or come at some point.
