This may be one of the cases where your son needs a lesson that you cannot give him. This is a hard decision and only you can make it. Without knowing the full situation it is hard for me to say whether you should or not. I would lean towards yes you should go to the police.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with having him arrested. Let me tell you from experiece with watching things like this happen to my parents. My brother would do things like this all the time. If you don't do anything about it he'll think hey I got away with it why not do it again sometime. I've got to let him know that you will not just sit there and let him do this to you. I'm sure you are a hard working mom and you need your money. You were the one that went to work every day to earn that money not your son. Yes you should let him go to jail. If you don't then there is that posibility that he will think that he got away with it and he might do it again.

Some time we want the best for our kids but they have to learn not to steal. He need to be taught a lesson that he do not touch things that do not belong to him. .But before you have him arrested take him down to the police station and let them talk with him about what he had done . This is a matter that need to be deal with before it gets out of hand he might start stealing from other so catch it now and he will not get into bigger problem in the future. I would not have him arrest but show him this is a serious matter. And that you will not have him stealing from you or others

Being a parent is so tough. It's the hardest job in the world. People talk about having "tough love" but it's so hard to do. Not only did what he do hurt you financially, but it affected you emotionally and it destroys your trust. You wonder how a child can do something like that to their own parent, the one who has given so much just to give them life. My prayers are with you.

Have him arrested. He did this because he believed you would not go the distance and press charges against him. He did this because he thinks he will get away with him. Show him he has to suffer the consequences for the things he does.

Sounds like he's into drugs. The best way to stop him or at least slow him down would be some jail time. Don't hate him for what he's done, drugs make you do that kind of stuff.

Yes, you have to report him to the police. You won't get your money back, but you may prevent him from stealing from someone else. It's not your fault that he stole from you, he did the crime, he needs to do the time.

Tough love sometimes is a difficult thing to carry out. Perhaps it just your money, but what will he do next and how much will his disrespect for law escalate?

In this case..YES. He obviously doesn't respect you and will continue those type of activities if allowed to get away with it. Of course, it may depend on his age as to what can actually be done.
