i lied to my mom about me hiding a movie and she is so mad everybody is looking all over the house for it i told her i didn't hide it and she believed me i dont know what to do i know i should tell the truth but she'll never trust me for the rest of my life

Not that I condone lying but this might be one of those times where you shove it under a cushion or someplace you know someone else will find it... kind of gets you off the hook.

You should have a talk with her and let her know that you're truly sorry and you didn't think it would have caused so many problems by hiding it and you were scared to tell her because you want her to trust you. It may take some time to earn the trust back but the more you lie the harder it will be to stop and fix this situation and possible future ones. Good luck

Considering the fact that it's just a movie, I doubt she won't trust you for the rest of your life. Remember that the naked truth is ALWAYS better than the best dressed lie. Give the movie to your mom, tell her why you hid it (be honest) and apologize. She might be a little upset initially, but she'll be relieved to know that she raised an honest daughter. I am guessing this was a pornographic movie, otherwise she wouldn't be so upset. If it's not, then just tell her the truth and give her the movie back. If she finds out another way then she will never trust you again. You need to get yourself OUT of trouble, not into it. If it is a dirty movie, try to put it back.....either way though, regardless of your age, you should be up front and honest...having a good trusting relationship with your parents is the best reward ever.....it will show in the furture....especially with curfews!!! But seriously, give it back.

Just tell her the truth, and then don't make a practice of lying. If it's a one-time thing, she'll trust you again as long as it doesn't become a pattern.
