My best friend is getting a new Weimaraner puppy.....they're those velvety-looking silver grey dogs that photographer William Wegman dresses up like people. We've been kicking around some names and wanted to throw it open and see what the creative Yahoo Answer community could come up with...

How about nickel?

I hope they did more planning than just what to name the dog! They are a challenge to train and they need a LOT of exercise! Hope your friends plan on using a crate? These dogs are prone to separation anxiety and I've seen them chew a house apart and jump through plate glass windows.

They should begin obedience training immediately. Don't listen to people who tell you that you have to wait until they are six months old - by then it's way too late. (Would you send your child off to his first day of school when he's 13??)

BEFORE they get the dog, they should read some great books on training. (Try not to pick books randomly - there are a lot of bad books out there also!) These are some of my favorites and you can get them on Amazon.com

I would name her Morticia, but then again I have a true white doberman named Cadavier. Another namecould be mercina "mercury".I understand they love water, but I cannot remember the Ladies name in the lake from Camelot. Good fun with your new family member!

Pointer or Bluetick....they may sound kind of stupid, but a lot of people and my friends like that name.

I think this is really cool. How about "tashe" (pronounced tosh)-- it is French for "Spot", a common dog's name. Only Tashe sounds really cool!!
