For my 40 pound longbow, what type of arrows should I get? I'm looking at some from Cabellas.com and I can't decide.

What does all the GPI and stuff mean? What do I need to get? thanks.

Go to www.eastonarchery.com. They have a downloadable program called the shaft selector. You put in the specs of your bow, and the program gives you recommended arrow sizes, types etc.

Witha 40 pound bow, you will need as light an arrow as you can get to maximize speed and distance. Look into the carbon arrows in the thinner models.

What you shoot also depends on what you plan to use the arrows for. Hunting tips vary depending on the game - broadheads for deer, judo points for rabbits.

Arrow fletching also depends on the hunt. Plastic fletching is less accurate than feather, but stands up far better in the rain.

1st you need to find out what your draw length is, draw the bow to shooting position measure distance from string to bow, add 2 inches..this is length of arrows you need.buy matching shafts so they will all shoot the same, use target tips the same weight as hunting tips same reason.about any of the aluminum shafts in medium weight will work fine.
