depends on the type of person the bachelorette is ~ if she is wholesome ~ maybe just friends at a small party ~ if she's not ~ anything goes :) i went to a party where they made popcicles in the shape of the male "part" and had a game where whoever sucked or licked it clean down to the stick won ~ no biting was permitted! Just an idea :)

If you're trying to keep it clean (ie. if there will be children there or it's more appropriate for the bride), my sister did a bowling party when she was Maid of Honour for her best friend's wedding. We had all ages there and the bride is allergic to alcohol so there wasn't going to be drinking. After bowling, we went to a local Kelsey's for appetizers and desserts. Tons of fun. Oh, and then we went back to the bride's parents house and watched movies.
All in all, we spent around $50. Now, except for the bride, everyone paid for themselves and my sister and I picked up the bride's tab that night. Hope that gives you some ideas. Have fun with it.

for my bachelorette party a couple of months ago we started with nibblies at a stylish wine bar and then onto a private karaoke room for an hour. it was hilarious and really cheap when you divided the cost amongst all the girls. after that we just went to nightclubs for a dance.

We went to dinner for mine everyone paid their own. My friends made me a shirt with life savers on it that said suck a saver $1. Guys gave me a dollar to bite a saver off. I made more than enough to cover my bill for the night. Just a t-shirt and shirt paint and some lifesaver and thread. It was great.

I can say this much, when it comes to the budget issue and male entertainment for the soon to be mrs. and crew -- you can never go wrong if you've got a brazen guy friend willing to help out :)

instead of hiring a male stripper, put on a costume and makeup and do the strip tease yourself. Serve red Kool-aid since it costs less than wine. Instead of sandwiches make it crackers. way cheaper. (come on man dig deep into your pockets you cheap skate) (smile)
