I have two kids from a previous marriage; they are in their teens almost. I’ve had it very rough financially; but thank God they are very good kids. I’m dating this guy that I’ve known for a long time now, he is a really nice guy and he doesn’t have kids, he would love to have his own. I always thought I never have more kids, but when I’m with him and I see the way he acts with the kids in his family and my own, for some reason, I can see myself having a baby with him. I always told him I didn’t want more kids, but I know that what he is looking for in a relationship is kids and all. I’m over 35 and under 40 and it worries me to have another child, I take folic acid everyday, watch my diet, exercise and the whole thing. How do I know that my body is ok to carry a healthy baby? It worries me also that he smokes.

you sound like a thoughtful, caring person...your age and general health sound just fine to have another baby. Talk to your doctor about your concerns, it sounds like you will do just fine. Good luck!

You can talk to him about smoking and help him to quit. In terms of your body, if health is what your concerned about speak with your doctor. I don't see a problem with it if that is something that you truly want. I'm a little concerned as to even though your time has been lengthly, they way you wrote it seems as though you haven't officially been an item for very long. I would make sure there's something concrete before jumping the gun. The last thing you want is to have a child and then Mr. Dad go by the way.

I think that you can have kids with this man. As far as I know, age should not be an issue in your situation. The only time age becomes an issue is when a woman had not had her first child by your age. Otherwise, I think you can have a healthy baby and his smoking should not harm the baby.

Well if you really want to have a child with this guy have your doctor check you out and make sure that you can still conceive. After that try with him.
