I get locked into small rooms, my wrists are slit, and I am raped and tortured, then killed. I had dreams like this for the past 5 months. I am being serious. I am only 15 years old, is there anything wrong with me?

These sound like the kind of dreams I have had for my whole life. I have post-traumatic stress, and an anxiety disorder, that causes it. Abuse and neglect can make people have dreams like this, but so can ordinary stress. I remember being 15; it was a pretty stressful time. I'm married with two special-needs teenagers, and house and car payments, and I think it was more stressful to be 15, than it is to be me now.

Talk about the dreams to your guidance counselor, a teacher, a friend's parent... your own parent would be your best choice but I know most teens aren't so comfortable with that. Find somebody who you know will give you good advice, somebody that would make your parents say, "Well if you didn't feel comfortable talking with us, we're glad you picked that adult."

There's probably nothing horribly wrong with you, other than you're dealing with some tough stuff in your life somewhere, and your dreams are scaring the daylights out of you. If it helps with the dreams in the meantime, put some happy, relaxing novels and a small lamp by your bed, buy a nightlight, maybe get yourself a teddy bear. Get a cup with a lid, so it won't spill if it tips over, and keep some water by the bed. And try to keep your bedroom a little on the cool, drafty side at night. Warm, stuffy air tends to trigger bizarre dreams.

I have the same problem. It's been going on for 8 1/2 months now. It started because I was having a lot of financial problems, and my car broke spun out, I got kicked out of my apartment ect.... I was really stressed out and my life wasn't going in the right direction. Well the dreams still continue, but not as much. The dreams I would constantly have reacuring were my father always attacking me, like trying to strangle me and stuff. Another main one was with Dinasours attacking me and eating me, they were chasing me and I was always trying to hide and run from them. 1/4 of the time I was getting eaten and I would wake up. Is there anything bothering you in your life that you are stressed about? I had nightmares all the time 4 or 5 times in the morning. It was really bad. You have to have your life on the right track and make the right decisions for them to go away. Do u have a good head on your shoulders? There's something going on in your life that is making you uneasy. Figure out what it is and get back on track. That's the best thing that I can say to help you. Doing that has reduced my nightmares, but haven't gone away completely..
p.s. If u watch scary movies before you go to bed I can almost guartentee you that u are going to have a nightmare. Don't do it.

Have you ever been involved with any martial arts, yoga, reiki, or other meditation? Something may have "entered" thru the open channel these things produce. Be very careful. I would strongly recommend you begin to cleanse yourself of any potential activity that "invites" these dreams. If you are christian, is there a pastor or someone in the church with whom you could speak? How about considering joining a youth group where you could be with a peer group and talk about it. God Bless you.

My best friends son had problems like this from around age 9 to age 17. It took several years for doctors to diagnose him with night terrors. Now he is 22 and is on a meds that keep him from having any problems.

There is nothing wrong with you, we all have bad dreams. Maybe you really feel like this in real life or maybe something similar happened to you before. I don't know which of this is correct but having bad dreams is normal.

Hello,
No, there is nothing wrong with you. I believe that you must have a great destiny planned for you, and a wonderful purpose in life, because these terrible dream experiences that you are having are showing that dark forces are trying to limit you, bind and abuse you – for real! I believe you have great potential to bring life to people! I believe you are probably destined to be a deliverer! That’s why you have been tormented. I don’t know if you believe in the devil, but it looks like he is trying to torment you, because he knows that if you ever reach your great potential, you will do a lot of damage to him and his plans!

You don’t have to put up with these nightmares. You can put a stop to them, but you’ll need to use the name of Jesus. Before you go to sleep each night, say something like this, "Devil, in the name of Jesus, stay out of my dreams tonight!" and pray something like this, "Jesus, keep me safe in my dreams tonight. Thank you for protecting me." If any evil people ever show up in your dreams again, don’t let them hurt you. Even in your dreams, tell them to "Go away and leave me alone in the name of Jesus". Don't let them bind you with fear or intimidate you. You can have supernatural strength and power on your side by using the name of Jesus. You don't have to be a Christian to do this. The power is in the name of Jesus. I hope this will help to end your nightmares forever!

there's probably nothing wrong with you. most dreams reflect either what we are afraid of, what we love, or our last thoughts before going to bed. remembering your dreams is a sign of a bad nights sleep or sleeping too little or too long so just get a good nights sleep and you should be fine.

You are feeling out of control-normal for 13. It takes practice but learn to control your dreams. Stop being the victim and force yourself to face your attackers and ask them why? Since they are a product of your own mind, they will either tell you or will know when you are dreaming and will force yourself to wake up.

Like I said, it takes practice but it does work!

there is nothing wrong with you, it is normal to have dreams like that, as you get older they will go away. Just make sure you tell yourself that they ARE dreams.
