It doesn't have a political leaning. If you wanted to politicize it then you could say Republican given the fact that they try to keep in some morals.

Other than the scout leaders touching the boy scouts.

As an old retired District Commisioner of Scouts Canada, in St. Lawrence District, there was never any mention of political leaning, and should not be allowed. Scouts are supposed to be taught camping, servival and life skills. Not political leanings.

I was a scout for a few years. Don't remember any politics. I do remember some lobbying by the older scouts as to who would drive the sled in the klondike derby.......

They have no specific political leaning. With that being said the misinformed will claim they are "religious" (what ever that's supposed to mean) simply because they have well defined idea of what is right/wrong and moral/immoral.

The BSA is officially non-partisan and cannot, in any offical way, support any party or candidate. For exxample, youth may particpate in a campaign to register voters, but not to endorse a candidate or platform.

The MEMBERS of the BSA may tend towards a conservative/Republican bias, but locally, they always seem to buck the trends- most I knew were pretty liberal and Democrat in a strongly Republican state.
