I am an usher for a wedding in August and have never heard of such a thing!

Me and my fiance are both ushers...I am assuming I will escort the guys and he will escort the girls.

We had female groomsperson and it was just fine. My best friend who was female ended up being best man at a wedding of a mutual old friend. Sometimes the people you pick to stand up for you at your wedding are not going to fit the traditional cookie cutter wedding party. Your best friend ends up being a member of the opposite gender, its no big deal. I am sure out there some bride had a male standing up on her side.

As a female usher you can certainly escort male guests to their seats, but I would escort whoever needed help to their seats and not worry too much. The idea is to be an extension of the bride and groom and be a welcoming force to guests, and be there for the groom (and the bride). Relax and have fun with it.

Couldn't they find enough males? I never heard of this. Are you comfortable escorting all the women, the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom, down the isle, to me the pictures are going to look a little strange. Are you going to wear a tux too? Are you just an usher, or are you going to stand on the grooms side behind the best man? In this day in age people are always wanting to make a statement and break the mold. You must be one brave chick to want to do this.

I have actually attended a wedding where the groom's niece was an usher along with his nephew. She wore a nice dress and a corsage and it was fine. It is a little different, but if the bride and groom feel that is what they want, why not? It is their day, and who cares what is the norm. Just smile and enjoy yourself and all of the people you will be ushering and chatting with!

i became the MOH (or slave of honor) and it became a discomfort, yet on the marriage day, I had distinct relaxing dancing and helping the bride too,and were given to leap with a hottie too. i became unmarried back then, so i became enthusiastic about that section. this is critical to keep in recommendations now to not be egocentric in any respect, this is all about the bride by using the indisputable fact that is her day and commonly in straight forward words get one wedding ceremony day,and also you would possibly want to not in any respect act like something she asks of you is a discomfort. that is extra sturdy on her to take heed to that sort of aspect than that is for you to in straight forward words do what she asks. even as it is your day you'll locate out that having a wedding ceremony is so annoying inspite of in case you want to keep it straight forward. you're below a lot pressure to have each little thing precisely proper, and performance this kind of huge volume of little projects to do, and everytime someone complains about something or maybe purely makes slightly remark you want to commence crying. The bride will be purely as satisfied this is throughout with as you'd be. even as the day receives right here. purely chew the bullet, take position even as and the position she tells you(and on time anytime) and issues will be ok and examine out so demanding to be fantastic and keep you mouth close. you'd be shocked what percentage friendships I actually have considered get ruined after the marriage became over, or maybe earlier the marriage date too, over the MOH conserving something mundane or no longer helping out as she might want to. The bride not in any respect forgets even the little comments.

Yes, and I've heard of male bridal attendants and Best Women, too. No, you will both escort any gender as they arrive.

I've been to a wedding where there were grooms"women" and brides"men." The bride and groom wanted to include their close friends/family in their wedding party regardless of their genders. The "man of honor" was the bride's cousin, who she was very close to. I thought it was great, personally.
