How many times should it be repeated, this country welcomes immigrants that abide by the law and the rules of the country, they have been coming to this country for years from every corner of the earth,it's the illegals that cross the border getting ahead of everyone else that are the problem, are you people hard headed or just plain stupid?Do Not confuse an illegal person with an immigrant that did it the legal way.

The US isn't intolerant to immigrants, but the problem is with the current state of the world, we have to be more secure in our borders. Illegal immigrants are the main problem and we're one of the only country that has multiple different languages allowed. Most countries have a set language that if you live there you learn and speak. I apologize if this is offensive, but this is the United States and the language is english and has been for many many years. So if you can't learn our language, why should we learn yours? It's about also respecting our culture. Illegal immigrants could be trying to harm our country and maybe not, but if you want in, DO IT LEGALLY! There are ways.

You are right; almost everyone here came from somewhere else except the American Indians. The difference is they all came legally, learned English, facts about the government, and melted into the culture and the American Dream.

Many did not give up their culture, i.e., we have Chinese food, and Irish Pubs, etc, but they are not trying to change American into their former country. The illegal immigrants want to fly the flag of their former country, speak their former countries language and almost refuse to learn English.

It’s funny because my step-father emigrated here from Germany when he was 12. He and his parents had to learn English and pass the immigration test on America. He is now one of the most racist people I know, because he is completely intolerant of illegals. Unlike most passive, native born Americans, he had to struggle, earn and work for his citizenship. He even served in the Army for a short while, so he relates with the privilege being an American and the sacrifices required to keep this country free.

I’m all for taking in the “huddled masses” but not if they think they are going to piss on our country, its laws, and traditions.

My wife is a legal immigrant. Now a citizen. It took her 3 years to do things as the law prescribes. She is very intolerant of people sneaking in illegally and collecting food stamps and free health insurance, bribing DMV officials and SSI officials for credentials to stay here illegally. She paid her dues to be a proud citizen of the US and it totally P@!*#!!s her off when others get in and suck off the system we pay our taxes into to benefit our own citizens. I do not blame her one bit.

And then I get hurt at work and benefits run out before I get my surgery and need a t need help. The house full of illegals across the street gets their kids sent to school for free, health insurance for free and bussed there too, food stamps for free, a county supplied interpreter any time they need one for free (Interpreters here make $25.00/hr from the county -- I know from personal experience) and a county nurse that visits them weekly.

And taxpayers shouldn't get upset that people are sneaking into this country in droves from their countries and using benefits that should only be for other taxpayers in their time of need?

Immigrants are welcomed with open arms here if they come the correct and legal way.

Most of us were born here, actually. Most of our ancestors came legally. We have no problem with legal immigrants. We have a problem paying for the education and health care and other benefits of those who come in violation of legal immigration limits determined in part to make sure those services remain adequate to serve our own needs.

Most Americans are not intolerant of immigrants, it's just the non-English speaking illegal ones we have a problem with.

The US isn't intolerant of immigrants, we are intolerant of ILLEGAL immigrants...

Its like traffic. Your stuck in a traffic jam, when someone comes from way behind you along the emergency lane and cuts in 20 cars in front of you. They broke the rules, profitted from it while you suffer and are now getting away with it. How would that make you feel?

I have friends who are LEGAL immigrants and they are wonderful people frustrated at this ILLEGAL immigration "reform" issue. If people force their way in and take advantage of things while you are stuck in paperwork and lines, does it seem fair? There are people who want to be american citizens and people who want to take advantage of us while remaining a citizen of another country.

In this case, I would consider myself intolerant to ILLEGAL immigrants, but friendly to those who wish to join our ranks as a citizen.

Nope you have it wrong. What we have a problem with is the ILLEGAL immigrants. They come into this country by breaking the law and remain here breaking additional laws and sponge off the benefits and rights that are for our citizens and those that are here legally.

I tolerate legal immigrants. I work with many of them that provide excellent health care to all.
Now, I have absolutely no tolerance for ILLEGAL immigrants... I hope that answers your question.

I believe that they just want the law to be enforced. People try and come to this country and illegally and that is what they are trying to stop. People come for what ever reasons and just like they help themselves to save up money to by car and houses here they should be able to save and pay there way here. They don't mean stop we don't want you here we just want to know who is here.
