You really cant 'get them to stay still' but they should'nt be wild. I have a 4 year old, a 19month old and a 3 month old, and the 2 older kids are active but under control...

You don't WANT an 18 month old to stay still! This is a critical time for developing so many skills including agility, balance, speech etc. Keep them busy. See the world through their eyes. Enjoy the wonder!

You really don't. He is full of life ready to discover everything. Might try to find some learning toys that makes him sit and think about for a while, but at that age attention spans are limited.

Have you tried Barney, and Elmo? If that doesn't slow him down some! You have to let he/she run til they can't run any more!

You don't. You just let them get around. They will be gone before you know it.
