I'm trying to find a puppy for my six year daughter. She just had a birthday and she was hoping to get the puppy she been asking for. I been looking for about 2 weeks without any luck. I'm looking to pay almost nothing for the pet, maybe even free. I know that's too much to ask for but I don't want to spend a lot on a dog (Sorry to sound cruel for all you dog lovers out there) Needs some good tips on finding a cute puppy for my daughter.

go to your local pound or dog shelter. mutts actually make really good pets, much better tempered usually than most pure-breeds

If you aren't looking to spend a lot on a dog, then maybe you shouldn't of given your daughter the hopes of getting one. What are you going to do if the puppy gets sick? Will you be willing to spend the money to spay/neuter and insure the puppy is up to date on all his/her shots? If not, then a dog is not for you.
Otherwise, check on Craigslist.org, it's the only place I've seen people who re-home their animals for little to no adoption fee.

You should get a Shi-tzu. Their friendly and they love everyone. Their also very intelligent. The only bad point is that they grow long hair but they look adorable in a summer cut

Go to the animal shelter. the puppies are not that much money. and mix breeds live a lot longer then per-breeds. and (i think) they have better personalities. :)

Do not go by cuteness. Do research as to what type of bred fits your lifestyle. Then go from there.
