Think. What do you want? What's right? What's wrong? What are you doing that "if you knew then what you knew now" you can change? What is that thing you wish you knew before? And what "thing" are you doing wrong now that will change yourself for a better future?
For example, when I was young, I avoided confrontation with most people. I kept to myself. But if I would have just looked around back then for someone to confront on whatever, I know I'd have been better off today. So what is it that I am not doing right now that's going to prevent me from getting into the future-frame-of-mind?
It's going to be something that will put you outside your "comfort zone". So anticipate it and expect some humility. Humility is a mountain that just keeps you in your place until you decide to just climb it. Just remember that there's always something better on the other side of humility. That's the moment when you take control.
That or just go sit on a rooftop on a nice cool night and watch the satellite drift by and look out into the universe and realize how small you really are and how much of a change you can make in your own life that will set yourself on a more realistic path. Your acknowledged insignificance in the face of the vastness of the universe is a sweet form of humility. Just remember to let the night air chill you to the bone until you get that shiver that reminds you of how important life is -- then go back inside where it's warm and get a good night's rest. You'll notice the coolness of your bedsheets and things will change.
Basically, it's the small things in life that matter most. You need to dig deeper than you've ever dug before to appreciate that. Then you can snap out of it.

you can't snap out of anything. If that was possible I wouldn't have my bf, but if i snapped out of it I would be in jail. However, if you are serious about making a better future. First figure out what is your better future. Then figure out ways to make it to that point. Then the longest and hardest part is sticking to what it takes to get you there. If you are determined enough you will make it. Though stop and reevaluated your "better future" from time to time. You may find that it has changed.

I think you just did by asking this question. Not sure what you have to snap out of, but you are on the roll.
Is it that you are depressed? Self conscious? Pitying yourself?
You seem to realize what the problem is, which is probably the most difficult part of it all. Go for it!!

I agree with David, write you goals down and prioritize them and check them off as you accomplish them. This will make you feel good about yourself. Get an education in the field of your interest, if you attend church give 10% of your earnings and then pay yourself 10% and place it in a fund where it will grow for you. You will be a winner for sure! Good Luck

First, write down what you want to do. Read it every day. Your life will change in the direction toward what you want. This is what very successful people do. They write it down first, then it happens for them.
