as I've never seen a skateboarding race, and i have seen guys going 25 mph down the road on inline skates, I'd have to go with the skates over the board.
now for tricking purposes, the board is a more versatile platform, and the prospect of the board going one way while the skater goes another adds more excitement to the performance.

I've had both and personally, one of these days, I'm gonna get me a pair of old fashioned roller skates (four wheels, not in-line lol), just like I had as a kid back in the 80's! So much easier, even if it's way uncool!
