Honey if you are on that much medication you need your Dr to advise you. You are lucky to have had only the few side effects you have had. Go back to your Dr and tell him you need a differnet combination of meds. You can't do this alone honey I know I have suffered from it my whole life. Please get some professional help before it is to late.

You should not have stopped cold like you said you did. If these drugs were causing you such discomfort you should have made an appointment with your doctor to see if there was another way to fix your problems. Stopping cold IS the reason you now feel like you do. See if your doctor can prescribe Prozac. I have been on this med for over 6 years and it has done wonders for me! I feel good and in control virtually all of the time. Hope this helps.

check out website www.about.com look search for your psychiatric disorder, they have a great section chat board for meds. I recently tried to wean of klonopin, from 2mgs to none in about 3 weeks, I went thru severe withdrawl and bizarre symptoms from this. I stumbled across the "ashford manual" which talks about withdrawl symptoms from benzos. Then i figured out why i was having all those weird symptoms.. Not sure what you diagnosis is, I have Bipolar type II. Don't give up, call your doc asap, or tomorrow, don't stop the meds, it's very frustrating to find the right combo of meds to fix the problems. Many times over I wished i were dead, but now I've been pretty stable for a few years, thank GOD, I look forward to the future. If you don't have a good support group of friends, try the about.com website, hope this helps. I'm sure your family loves and cares for you very much, but lots of times they don't know how to help you. Tell them what you need. God Bless. Sam

You're in withdrawal from stopping cold turkey. You probably need to wean yourself off the drugs slowly--I had to wean myself off Effexor and the side effects were horrible while I was trying to stop. Talk to your doctor about the withdrawal and alternative meds to stop having such bad side effects. The withdrawal was probably really bad because you stopped a lot of meds at once. My doctors never like to change more than one med at a time so that they can tell what works or doesn't--you shouldn't change a lot of meds at once because you can't tell what's helping or hurting you. Keep fighting to get the right meds and remember that if you keep trying, you'll probably get something to make you feel better. You should try therapy, too, to help you deal with your guilt and irritability. They're symptoms--you're sick! You're not a bad person and you deserve proper health care! Meds can help your symptoms, but therapy can help you deal with the mental aspects--guilt, shame, feelings of hopelessness, all those horrible depression symptoms. Get help and good luck--I know mental illness is a huge pain in the *** but if you work hard to get better, you'll have a real sense of accomplishment when you feel better. Take your meds properly, exercise, go to therapy--do what your doctors tell you to do and see if it helps. It's not your fault that you're mentally ill, but you do have to take responsibility for getting better, and I know you don't feel like doing that now, but there's no other choice but to get better. Staying the same isn't a good choice, and neither is killing yourself or feeling suicidal and self-destructive. Getting better is hard, but it's the best choice and you deserve a chance to feel good and be happy.

I'm BiPolar and have been on Effexor-xr, Depakote, and Zyprexa for years.... it is "NEVER" a good idea for a person who is clinically "depressed" to stop all their medicines all at once! It can even throw you into a suicidal stage!! You need to maintain the meds you doctor deems neccessary, this is the "ONLY" way you are going to win this battle. I'm 46 years old, and have suffered from depression my whole life.... believe me, it's not an easy battle, but through modern day medicine, there IS hope for us. You need to discuss with your doctor the mood swings and make sure you should not start on one of meds you already quit taking. Please take care of yourself

I stopped Paxil cold turkey (like a dummy, I know) about a year ago and I had really bad withdrawal symptoms for a couple of weeks and then I was fine. I have felt pretty good ever since. Can those other drugs really affect you that long after you quit taking them? Please go see your doctor and see what they can recommend. There is no good reason for you to have to be so unhappy.
