My boyfriend told me he heard rumors that I was lying to him, but yet he told me he doesn't believe them...but yet he still needed my word to verify. He won't however tell me what the rumors were or anything about what my "lies" involved. How would you interpret that?

Trust is not a set in concrete thing. Just because someone is having trouble trusting you can come from many factors, including being hurt very badly in the past. Although it would not be your fault, you must still understand that trust doesn't come as easy for this person as maybe it might to another. What your decision must be is to decide how much you want to prove to him you can be trusted and how long you will do that patiently. If some of his friends are lying on you, it is his friends that are so the problem, and after explaining all to him and he can't see that, maybe he is not mature enough to handle a relationship. Men are more like little boys when they have to use their peeps to analyze their love life.

He trusts you but is still concerned that the rumor even exists....so he still has a doubt in his mind. He is trying to get your reaction to the situation to find out whether or not he should be trusting you

It shows that you and your boyfriend doesn't have an open communication. You need to sit down with him and have a discussion.

He wants assurance from you that he can trust you in the future. Two of you haven't achieved the ultimate closeness and the trust that comes from it, yet.

THAT ISNT FAIR at all, tell him if he doesnt tell you that you will break up with him. For all you know he could be just making it up turn it around on him and make him feel bad, how can he confront you with these rumors if he cant give you the evidence, hes just wasting your time next!

He is feeling insecure about the relationship, so he is making it up. He probably had a bad relationship in the past where his girlfriend lied to him all the time. He just wants reassurance that he can trust you.

He is letting you know that people are talking about you, but at the same time you need to ask him this. "Are you going to believe them or me?" And see what he says to that. Then again he could just be testing you.

It was a test. You were supposed to fall apart and confess all. He plays games. don't fall for it. Either he trusts you or not. Maybe he'd rather be with the people who old him the lies?

He is insecure and just fishing in a childish manner. If he was a real man, he would just say what he was thinking and talk it out like adults.
