I do not believe that you need to go to a church, temple, mosque or whatever to show your faith and devotion to God. I do not believe that you need to read and worship a book that has been "translated", and I use the word loosely, so many times by so many different people. I believe in God, I pray to God, and I never take my cross off. It is a symbol of my faith and devotion. I don't think that God "requires" you to go to a church, give your contribution and listen to someone else tell you how to pray and what to pray for and how great God is. You know all this. As long as you have God in your heart you do not need Him in a building or a book.
By the way, I do love churches. Especially old churches. There is something very peaceful about them. My largest beef is with organized religion and bible thumpers!
I am sorry if this opinion upsets anyone. It is my own and I believe that God has given us all the free will to carry our own opinions without the need of others to influence you otherwise.

God does not like people to NOT grow spiritually. Attending fellowship is part of spiritual growth.
God hates a "neutral", stance. Rom.1.
Christians will not take a stand on issues, and this God hates about worse than anything.
How can a Christian be serving, and devoted to God, without attending church?
I could ask this question and get over 200 replies. EXCUSES.
Did Jesus teach, "forsake" the fellowship?. No.
Then why are people doing it? They stay at home and self taught? Self knowledge? self fellowship?
I think such a person just did what? Became self Righteous.

God does not get angry. Church is not God. Jesus was a chruch basher and a religion basher.
You are the last church. You are the house of God. God is in you, and we are all equal.
Church would be a great place to hang out and talk about God, if it wasn't full of hypocracy and contradicitions and one way conversations infiltrating fear and manipulation into our society. Then people wonder why we have psychopaths.

for me: I was raised a catholic but I find the sermon too vague and uninteresting even now as a tenageer, then my mom took me to the jehova's witness mass and I was scared stiff about the devil, and so i never went back, the christian church is more open-minded and friendly, but i personally do not agree with the rules and limitations of the catholic and jehova's witness, and i don't believe in the creation story or any of the plagues and all that being real. So I go to any church ever so often for a moment of quiet and reflexion, it gives me a sense of peace just being inside.

I go to church to worship God and Praise him for all the things that he has done fo me. I think tha everyone should go to church because if you think about it without God where would you have been if he didn't give up his only begotten son to be crucified on the cross where would u have been? When that was you that was suppose to be killed in that accident but God spared your life see if u think about it u should go to church to praise him and thank him and get your life together because God is coming soon and if u read the book of Revelations all the signs that he warns us about his coming has already came to passed.

I go to church in a Library
And God will love you no matter where you go
Did Jesus give his service in a church
Or was it out in the open under the glorious sunshine the light from the universe.
Love & Blessings

Going to Church helps you in a lot of ways like: spending time with people with same beliefs, learning more, Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, Praise and Worship, and Prayer.

I like to go to church because it brings me closer to God. I like to go to the temple to remind me of my covenants and serve my heavenly brothers and sisters who have passed on. Whether it is necessary or not depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I don't believe God gets angry if you don't go, but I do believe it makes Him sad. As His child, I am sure He would like you to put some effort into getting to know Him.

I consider that many of us give at least forty hours a week for work. He gave us the strenght to commute and work. So, what about giving God at least one hour a week to show among many other things my gratitude. Necessary? I justified it in a few words. Angry? No. God gave us free will to do good or bad based on the principle that we reap what we saw. Good or bad actions or thoughts do not remain idle; they have their consequences.
